Vaginismus is when the vaginal muscle is contracted involuntarily and consistently during attempt of vagina sexual intercourse. The diagnosis can oftentimes be made by taking a careful history and an examination. When the diagnosis is made referral should be made to the relevant specialties where counselling nearly always results in cure.
